Why do only a few people heard about Ricky Nelson but most people know about Elvis Presley. Why is Elvis more popular than R.Nelson? What is so great about him? I like R.Nelson more than Elvis. Discuss further if you wish....Try to keep your language clean.

I think maybe the reason Elvis moved a little higher in appreciation is probably because Rick had been known from childhood and people already loved him as family. Elvis on the other hand was an explosion on culture and media of the time as something totally new and exciting. Rick unfortunately and wrongly just joining the rock movement. I myself loved and grew up on both pretty equally and leaned more toward Elvis probably because Rick was "family" to me and normal. Elvis brought in a new excitement.

I had pictures of both Elvis and Rick all over my wall. To me they are equal in looks and talent. Bruce is right in that I felt like I knew Rick through the show. Plus Rick sang with a totaly different style than Elvis. This made it ok to be all out fans of both. I miss both of them and it is so sad that kids now know nothing of what we of the 50 s and 60s knew . I still enjoy it just as much now as I did then.
